Tickets are now on sale for our May production – Agatha Christie’s “The Hollow”. An unhappy mismatched group of invited friends explodes into murder one weekend in 1951 at 'The Hollow', home of Sir Henry and Lucy Angkatell. Dr John Cristow is at the centre of the trouble, for at 'The Hollow' are Henrietta, his mistress, Veronica, his ex-mistress, and Gerda, his wife. To further complicate matters, also present is Edward, in love with Henrietta, and Midge, in love with Edward. The tangled proceedings end in murder. Inspector Colquhoun and Sergeant Penny arrive to unravel the complicated mess...

THE HOLLOW – 9/10/16/17 MAY – 7.30PM - £7/£5
This autumn’s production will be “Oh! What a Lovely War” – a bittersweet take on the First World War using popular songs of the time re-worded by front-line troops to satirise war in general. Producer and director Alan Moorhouse has chosen this well-known piece to coincide with the 90th anniversary of the 1918 armistice. This production requires a cast of six male and six female main characters plus an ensemble cast, performing songs, sketches and cameo performances. This production would be suitable for any teenagers who are interested in taking part.
Auditions will be on Tuesday 3rd June from 7.30pm at Silchester Village Hall. Performances will on 10th, 11th, 24th, 25th October 2008.
OH! WHAT A LOVELY WAR - AUDITIONS – 3 JUNE – 7.30
We will be holding a Quiz Night on Wednesday 4th June in the Calleva pub, Silchester – organised by our social secretary, Andy Nicholson. There will be snacks provided, for a modest fee – cost, team size and starting time to be advised.

This year’s summer barbecue will be held on Sunday 20th July at Beryl and Stephen Oliver’s (2 The Oaks, Tadley) from midday onwards. Please bring your own meat and drink – and if you have a speciality for the salad table that you would like to share then please bring it along too.

This year’s Annual General Meeting will be held IN THE PUB on Wednesday 11th June at 8pm. Yes, IN THE CALLEVA PUB. This is your chance to come along and have your say about what our group gets up to. In general we have a very low attendance at the AGM – less than 20 people out of a membership of 50-60 (and nearly always the same people), which is rather a small turnout, so please make an effort. The meeting only takes 30-40 minutes and it will be IN THE PUB.
