Once again, the Chestersil Players are in dire financial circumstances and consent to perform another play by Phyllis Montague. This time Phyllis is joined by her nephew Monte to write a musical tribute to Queen Elizabeth I. The intrepid thespians know that disaster will probably result. It may be tough to act on a sinking ship but can you sing as waters rise! Welcome to yet another chapter in the lives of this harried community theatre group.

Geraldine Dunbar The director, once again battling to keep the cast together to perform Phyllis’ complicated script and Monte’s surprising songs.
Aggie Manville The harassed stage manager, prompt and pianist.
Louise Peary A backstage maid of all work, newly exposed to theatre computer technology.
Henry Benish A middle-aged actor, the spouse of
Polly Benish A middle-aged actress, conscious of being on the plump side.
Marla ‘Smitty’ Smit An eager young actress in her early twenties.
Saul Watson An almost middle-aged actor, with a sarcastic sense of humour.
Bill Carewe An actor in his mid-twenties, who is now married to
Violet (nee Imbry) Carewe A young actress.
Phyllis Montague A local amateur playwright and Queen Elizabeth I enthusiast.
Monte Montague a (new character). Phyllis’ nephew, a hobbyist songwriter.
It is possible for the role of Aggie to be played by a male actor, but obviously with first name changes!
